A Niche Aerial Imaging Service provider for
High Value, Sensitive and Complicated Asset Inspections
Flight Assess is an operational component of Asset Excellence Pty Ltd.
Whilst carrying out projects for various Clients, restrictions and inefficiencies in the aquisition of data and the overall picture of the clients’ situation was identified as an area that should be enhanced.
Subsequently, Asset Excellence formed an in house, enhanced capability utilising Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). This service was designed to provide inspections within highly complicated and restricted areas.
This component of Asset Excellence was originally named AEDroneS. As a result of significant business growth, obtaining contracts with Transport and Main Roads (QLD), Insurance Assessors, along with various other Property developers, Airline, Airport authorities and other High Value industrial clients within Australia, a clearer business name was required.
Together with this, there was a requirement to ensure no confusion existed with our available services to all our Clients – both those wanting to use the service Asset Excellence provides as well as those exclusively interested in the UAV/RPAS services. Subsequently, Flight Assess was born.
Flight Assess has access to a wide range of experienced and qualified Remote Pilots and has a significant documented safety and quality management foundation in order to meet our Clients’ needs. Our Corporate Director has 30 years of operational aviation experience in both military and civilian environments on fixed and rotary equipment. As a result, Flight Assess has become uniquely placed as a key driver in trialling comprehensively, RPAS equipment for both airlines and airports in Australia as well as other restrictive and complex industries.
Flight Assess utilises the latest in commercial equipment including both Quad and Hexcopters. The filming equipment used is top of the range along with thermal imaging capability.
Through Asset Excellence we are an accredited member with Australian Association for Unmanned Systems (AAUS).

Flight Assess has both Hex and Quad Rotor available to cover a wide range of inspection / footage requirements.
Utilising the all new Commercial Yuneec H520 Hexcopter equipped with the E90 and CGOET Thermal imaging next gen cameras.
The H520 is built for inspection, law enforcement, security, construction, surveying, and mapping applications in addition to offering cinematic or broadcast-ready imaging payload systems.
Along with the platform being next gen, the cameras are what produces the required outcome.
Flight Assess has invested in the highest range of cameras available for UAV’s. In the case of the H520 Commercial Platform the E90, E50 and the CGOET (Thermal) cameras have been selected.
The CGOET has Dual-image gimbal-integrated camera system temperature measurement and displays various colour spectra allowing for an accurate visualization of heat sources. Adjustable temperature detection scale to focus on relevant areas. Gimbal mounted IR for smooth detection display. Large IR sensor that detects greater detail in the dark than the human eye and is ideal for surveillance. Dual HD and infrared simultaneous recording. Thermal and available light recorded simultaneously, so the video is frame-accurate in playback with an embedded timecode.
The E90 Ultra High Definition camera is a wide-angle, high resolution, gimbal stabilized imaging system perfectly suited for use in applications that require high quality photo and video. The E90 utilizes a 20 MP 1-inch sensor and the latest H2 high speed image processing chip. The sensor provides exceptional dynamic range and improved signal-to-noise ratio. The E90’s 23 mm lens equivalent provides wide angle view via an all glass lens system with low distortion and minimal lens dispersion. A 3-axis stabilized gimbal with high precision provides a steady platform for the E90 camera. With a precision of +/- 0.02°, E90 shots are rock-solid whether loitering or flying full throttle. The E90 gimbal is capable of unlimited 360 yaw axis rotation.
The E50 camera is a medium focal length, high resolution, gimbal stabilized imaging system perfectly suited for use in inspection or cinema applications. The E50 utilizes a high aperture 1/2.3 inch CMOS imager with a 40mm focal length that is capable to capture still images with 12 MP resolution. The E50’s medium focal length provides up-close visuals while keeping the airframe a safe distance from the asset. Capture all the detail required for inspection or cinematography without getting too close. The E50 utilizes a 10 element all glass, low distortion lens system with minimal lens dispersion.
Flight Assess also utilise a number of Professional Quality
DJI Phantom 4 Pro Machines.
The Phantom 4 Pro camera is equipped with a 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor and has a manually adjustable aperture from F2.8 to F11.
The Phantom 4 Pro is able to record UHD 4K (4096X2160) at 60fps, at a maximum bitrate of 100Mbps using the H.264 codec and also supports H.265.
A custom engineered lens made up of eight elements is arranged in seven groups, it is the first DJI camera to use a mechanical shutter, eliminating rolling shutter distortion which can occur when taking images of fast moving subjects or when flying at high speed.
Safety is enhanced with Flight Autonomy. An additional set of high-resolution stereo vision sensors placed at the rear in addition to the pair placed at the front as well as infrared sensing systems placed on the left and right sides. This network creates a total of 5-direction of obstacle sensing and 4-direction ofobstacle avoidance, protecting the Phantom 4 Pro from more obstacles ensuring a safer operation for our clients
